This groove cross is a specialized fitting for four-way branches in pipeline systems. The complete range of standard sizes covers all common sizes from DN50 to DN250 (pipe outer diameter Φ60–Φ273 mm), including equal crosses and transition crosses of various diameters. Crosspieces are available for two standard pressure classes: 1.6 MPa and 2.5 MPa. They can be equipped with groove elbows, couplings and other fittings of the same series for complex installation.
The body of the product is made of high-strength nodular cast iron QT450-12 using precision casting. The current edition of the national standard replaces the outdated standard GB5135.11-2006 specified in the old materials, and also complies with the American standard ASTM-A536. The castings are distinguished by their stable structure and high resistance to pressure and deformation. O-rings are available in two types: EPDM for fire-fighting applications and food-grade silicone rubber for potable water, meeting ISO6182 and GB/T17219 requirements for excellent sealing and waterproof performance. Fasteners - bolts and nuts of strength class 8.8 made of 45# or 40Cr steel with hot-dip galvanized coating, manufactured in accordance with current government fastener standards.
The outer surface of the fittings is treated with electrostatic spraying of epoxy powder paint with high temperature polymerization, while outdated and canceled national standards for coatings specified in old materials are replaced by current editions. The coating is non-toxic, corrosion resistant and meets the requirements for fire extinguishing and drinking water supply systems. Packaging is carried out in accordance with the GB/T191 standard: for small and medium diameters, corrugated cardboard containers are used, for diameters Φ273 and above - packaging in bundles with strapping, which provides complete protection during storage and transportation.
The installation of the cross is carried out using groove couplings - the connection does not require welding, which significantly reduces the time required to install pipeline branches. The product is widely used for four-way distribution of water in fire sprinkler systems of large shopping centers, underground garages, production workshops, for multi-channel drainage from main water supply and sewerage pipelines in buildings, as well as for distribution of circulation pipelines of central air conditioners.
