Customs statistics for the first half of 2026 confirm sustained high growth in comb fittings exports from China. The total annual volume of shipments abroad will exceed 2.1 billion US dollars, with an increase of over 12%. The share of procurement by countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative increased to 54.6%, with key external markets being infrastructure projects in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
Previously, the basis of exports were standard rigid comb couplings, now the structure of exported products has improved significantly: the share of highly profitable products - earthquake-resistant flexible comb couplings, thickened large-diameter clamps, anti-corrosion comb fittings with plastic lining - exceeded 40%. Domestic comb systems are widely used at water supply facilities in oil fields in the Middle East and fire pipelines in industrial parks in Southeast Asia. Compared to European and American counterparts, Chinese comb clamps have clear advantages in terms of price-quality ratio, delivery time and compatibility during field installation.
Key fitting manufacturers are seeing continued growth in monthly orders for modified ductile iron clamps designed to withstand high temperature, high corrosion conditions overseas for offshore hydraulic structures and chemical pipelines. As the global infrastructure industry recovers, foreign trade in comb fittings is moving from a low-cost, mass supply strategy to a premium-quality sales model. Manufacturers that comply with national Chinese standards and, in parallel, comply with European and American pipeline regulations, are demonstrating a steady increase in foreign orders.
