The groove plug (blank plug) is a specialized fitting for hermetically sealing the end sections of pipelines in fire extinguishing, water supply and drainage systems. The main purpose is the temporary or permanent closure of backup bends, pipe ends and planned connection points, providing reliable isolation of the site and the possibility of subsequent expansion or modernization of the system. A standard groove is made with high precision on the outer edge of the product, which allows the plug to be mounted using a groove coupling directly on the pipe without the use of welding or threading. Installation and dismantling are simple and quick, which is especially convenient when conducting hydraulic tests and stage-by-stage delivery of objects.
The product is made by one-piece injection molding from high-strength nodular cast iron, grade QT450-12. The thickness of the plate is uniform over the entire surface, which ensures high resistance to water pressure and deformation. The outer surface is coated with epoxy powder by electrostatic spraying, which guarantees anti-corrosion protection and resistance to humidity, allowing the plugs to be used both in conditions of high humidity indoors and when installed underground. The range covers all common diameters from DN65 to DN300 and is fully compatible with galvanized steel pipes according to national standards. Plugs are widely used in fire extinguishing systems of high-rise buildings, in industrial water supply and sewerage networks, as well as in city utilities, being an indispensable element for temporary isolation of sections and pressure testing of pipelines.
