From July 1, 2026, the revised technical regulation “Requirements for fire safety and fire extinguishing means” (EAEU TR 043/2017) will come into force. During the finalization of the document, 15 interstate standards were introduced, establishing more stringent requirements for methods of connecting fire pipelines, their strength under pressure and fire resistance.
Comb fittings are the most common type of connection for fire service elements, so both their certification procedures and laboratory testing criteria have been adjusted. The new regulations require an EAC certificate of conformity for all comb fittings intended for fire sprinkler systems. Products must undergo fire resistance tests in Russian accredited laboratories and be registered in the FSIS PB system. Industry experts note that increasing certification barriers will lead to a redistribution of the market: enterprises with a well-functioning quality control system and their own research base will occupy a larger market share.
